Save Lives, Legalize Drugs

An estimated 75,000 people are projected to have been killed as a result of drug-relation violence in Mexico by December 2012.

And buying illegal drugs is still about as easy as asking the right people. This is a total. Fucking. Catastrophe.

Also, if you smoke grass, use cocaine, pop pills, shoot dope, or whatever, you don’t get to talk about your commitment to human rights or sustainability or any of that stuff. Meth addicts get a pass, since most of that crap is cooked in kitchens right here in the US of A.

There was a panel discussion in San Diego recently to discuss the effect that legalizing marijuana in California would have in Mexico. The Baja attorney general was supposed to be there, but he was held up due to 13 cartel-related murders. Which is a pretty telling anecdote.

Also, most meth used to be cooked up in the states, but such is not the case anymore, at least on the west coast. After Oregon banned the sale of pseudoephedrine over the counter, it drove small timer meth cookers out of business, and the Mexican drug cartels moved in. It’s almost like there’s some sort of connection between supply and demand!

Isn’t supply and demand what wingnut Tea Bagger types use to justify their seething racial hatred of Barack Obama?
