The Internet has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize:
The internet’s nomination has been championed by the Italian version of Wired magazine for helping advance “dialogue, debate and consensus”.
“Dialogue, debate, and consensus?” Apparently the people who nominated it have never once looked at a comments thread about George Bush on Daily Kos or a post about Obama on Free Republic, to say nothing of people bickering about Linux vs. Windows on Slashdot. And as for “peace?” Well, once can assume that they never once enjoyed the sensation of getting a sweet headshot M-M-M-Monster Kill in Unreal Tournament with a sniper rifle.
[Insert snarky comment about Obama potentially sharing his Peace Prize with Henry Kissinger, Yasser Arafat, and an inanimate network that’s chiefly used for trafficking pornography here.]
